ETA-Danmark a department in DS Certificering A/S, and is the Danish approval body for construction products.

We are authorised by the Danish Enterprise and Construction Authority to issue national approvals for construction products. This means that we issue MK-approvals for materials and structures, and VA-approvals for water supply and drainage products.

Futhermore, we can issue approvals for innovative construction products, with the purpose of assessing the products fitness for the intended use and compliance with the Danish Building Regulations and supplementary guidance documents.

ETA-Danmark is notified by the Danish State to the European Commission as the Danish approval body issuing European Technical Approvals and participating in the development of Guidelines for European Technical Approvals as specified in the Construction Products Directive.

ETA-Danmark is a member of The European Organisation for Technical Approvals (EOTA), and has from the start played and active part in the development of the formal documents in EOTA.

To ensure a wide opportunity for mutual recognition of our approvals both in Europe and world wide ETA-Danmark is also a full member of UEAtc (The European Union of Agrément) and of WFTAO (World Federation of Technical Assessment Organisations).

UEAtc is a European Union of Agréments working on the basis of mutually agreed directives for issuing of Agréments, mostly on bilateral basis.

WFTAO, established in 1996 is a global federation with the objective to enhance and promote the role of technical assessments in the construction field worldwide and to develop mutual confidence in the technical assessments made by its members. Members are expected to facilitate the transfer of national products to the global market through the use of technical assessments as delivered by the members of WFTAO.

ETA-Danmark has extensive experience in issuing approvals in Denmark. The exhaustive work in recent years with the Construction Products Directive, both regarding technical and formal issues, has provided ETA-Danmark with an extensive knowledge concerning this directive.

ETA-Danmark has established a broad network throughout the approval bodies in both EC, the new East European countries and - through WFTAO – in large parts of the rest of the world.

ETA-Danmark acts as a consultant for ministries, technical institutions and companies requesting technical investigations and reports in the field of building products and related codes and standards. Furthermore, ETA-Danmark  can offer a wide range of services in connection with the Construction Products Directive and knowledge and contact mediation.
